FOR MOST OF MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN RUNNING INTO THE NUMBER 27. AT TIMES IT HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH SOME OF THE BEST NEWS I'VE EVER RECEIVED. AT OTHER TIMES IT HAS BEEN A HARBINGER FOR GREAT DISASTERS IN MY LIFE. THIS PIECE ATTEMPTS TO REFLECT THE UNIVERSALITY OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS NUMBER, BY MOVING THROUGH A VARIETY OF DISSONANCES IN BOTH THE MELODY AND ALSO IN THE HARMONIC, IMPROVISATIONAL STRUCTURES.
